E3 2015: Media Molecule showcases Dreams, their new creative IP

Media Molecule is best known for their creative games; Little Big Planet and Tearaway are two of the most unique Playstation games in years. Over the last two years, the company has been experimenting with taking creativity to the next level using motion controls and the power of the PS4 hardware.

It looks like they may be on to something. We just don’t know what it is yet.

Dreams is the code name the company is using for their newest project. Players can create worlds, characters, and just about everything else in the new game. Motion control will let us waggle our PS controllers like brush strokes to create forms that become characters. Worlds are painted and arranged, and adventures can be created, along with movies and music. It’s about creating and reliving our dreams and ideas, we’re told.

It’s more of a creative toolbox than anything else, and it seems extremely free and — dare I say — limitless. While it’s still so early in development, Dreams aims to come out of the haze at least just a little bit at Paris Games Week in October.
