E3 2015: Bethesda Showcase (Doom, Dishonored 2, Fallout 4 and more)

With the privilege of going first, Bethesda started E3 2015’s series of press conferences with bang. Choosing to focus mainly on games coming out within the next year, Bethesda shared long looks at most of the titles on display.

Starting with Doom, Bethesda showed well over 5 minutes of gameplay, featuring some of the series most iconic weapons and a number of dynamic and brutal melee kills. The series familiar multiplayer suite was also touched on, but the biggest news for the game was Doom Snapmap a content creator that will allow players to create custom maps and game-types for both singleplayer, competitive multiplayer and co-op . Doom and Doom Snapmap will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in Spring 2016.

After mentioning Snapmap, Bethesda.net was announced. Bethesda.net will be a platform for every Bethesda release going foreword. Here developers will share updates and news regarding titles and players will be able to share their experiences and content. Details were scarce, but The Elder Scrolls Online is already interrogated into the platform, so chances are we will be hearing more soon.

Speaking of The Elder Scrolls Online, a trailer of some of the content coming to the game throughout the year was shared. But the biggest Elder Scrolls news was an announcement for a trading card game coming to PC and Mobile entitled The Elder Scrolls Legends. Almost no information on the game was shared, but it will be releasing in 2015.

BATTLECRY, a team based third-person action game being developed by BattleCry Studios received a new trailer with a look at one of the games new warring factions. A worldwide beta for PC is planned, and interested players can head over to here to signup.

Set 15 years after the original, Dishonored 2 was officially announced along with a Definitive Edition of Dishonored coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. More information on both titles can be found in this article, but we have also linked to the trailer in this article bellow.

Rounding out Bethesda’s show was the megaton itself, Fallout 4. Sharing more than 30 minutes worth of information and footage, a lot of new and adapted features are coming to the series. Set in Boston and it’s surrounding areas, players will start Fallout 4 before the nukes start dropping and will be able to customize a female or male character to venture out into the wasteland with. Players can now walk away from a conversation mid sentence, which might effect how a character interacts with you. The dog featured in the games first trailer can be issued commands and adventures with you as a companion. The Pip-Boy is going through a massive overall now featuring 3D animations for character status, inventory, gear and will also have games playable on it. Speaking of Pip-Boys, a Pip-Boy edition of the game will be released with a physical and wearable Pip-Boy that will allow players to insert their cellphones and run a second screen app that will interact with Fallout 4. The app will be available for mobile phones without the use of the Pip-Boy, but won’t be as cool. Fallout 4 will also feature the ability for players to build a customize their own settlements, that when built up may bring in citizens and merchants. Weapons, gear and your own personal power-suit will all be customizable by obtaining parts out of items found in the world. There were a lot of details about Fallout 4, so if your interested jump over to Bethesda’s Twitch channel and take a look for yourself! (Time coded at the start of Fallout 4 news for your convenience)

Fallout 4 wasn’t the only Fallout game shown however. Fallout Shelter is a free to play mobile game that puts players in the role as an overseer for their own vault. Players can send survivors on missions to gain resources and build additional vault utilities among other things. Fallout Shelter is available now for ios and will be coming  to Android in the future.

Bethesda had a really strong showing, but also gets the benefit of going first. Hopefully this train of outstanding events keeps going all week long.
