And just like that Tokyo Game Show starts with a magical bang. Square Enix has unveiled the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XV, showing what we assume to be in-engine visuals and gameplay. The game, due sometime in the future — hopefully not the far far far future — has been in development for what seems like forever. Fans have been swooning for it, and rightfully so, since it started production when Final Fantasy XIII was announced.
The video/trailer shows a young Prince (or King?) driving around with friends to some fateful meeting. Visual designs are akin to a mix between Final Fantasy VIII and Advent Children, and the gameplay certainly seems to be more action-oriented than previous iterations. Lighting will play much more of a role, it appears, as we see day and night, dawn and fiery dusk.
Final Fantasy XV has a TBD date, and is coming to both Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
