Motor City Comic Con 2014: Game of Thrones props and swords [Gallery]

Down a little ways from the awesome Star Wars corner at Motor City Comic Con was an equally awesome selection of Game of Thrones props, courtesy of retailer Valyrian Steel.

On display were helms (Loras & the Hound’s!) that fit a little too well for me to avoid walking away with an empty wallet. The hand-sculpted pieces are made from fiberglass, and the Hound’s helm even had a functional jaw. The designers added in an aged look to the pieces, purposefully sculpting in dings and scratches. I approve!

And the swords! From the epic Longclaw (Jon Snow) to Ned Stark’s sword (one of which was made from Damascus steel), they were light enough to wield but plenty sharp. Other props included Robert Baratheon’s war hammer, a Stark infantry shield, daggers, and more.
