We have a date. Halo 5: Guardians is the next sequential release in the Halo franchise, and has been confirmed for a Fall 2015 release. Announced this morning on Xbox’s Wire, the next game will be a bigger undertaking that previous iterations, which is why the extra time is needed to complete it. Halo 4 launched in 2012 as 343’s first full Halo game.
The game will coincide with the release of the Halo live-action series, it’s noted. No word on if the two will tie together somehow, but it’s a safe bet to think they’ll have at least something in common: Master Chief.
In Guardians, Chief is on a journey of recovery from the events of Halo 4. The image we’re teased with shows Chief as a mirror image to a female Spartan above him. We don’t know who that Spartan is OH WHO ARE WE KIDDING IT’S PROBABLY CORTANA.
343 is also promising a “huge leap” for Halo onto the Xbox One this Fall as well. Halo 2 remake? F2P Halo multiplayer? HALO WARS 2? (Say yes to that last one, Microsoft!)
All of this, AND MORE, will be revealed on the next exciting edition of “Microsoft’s E3 Press Event”.
