Hello, fellow Warcraft players. Welcome to another edition of The World of Artcraft featuring Updates from Steve Aguilar, Lead Animator for the World of Warcraft Animation Team. Whew! Last we met, the Warcraft team showed off the revamped look of the female Orc. This time, in this here edition, we will get a peak at the redesigned male Tauren.
The Tauren is somewhat known for its familiar stand/chillax animation, and Aguilar chimes in in regards to that:
The normal “stand” animation is one of the most important animations because this shwta you, the player, see the majority of the time. When you stop moving or walk up to an NPC, the stand is the key pose that is being used. A huge chunk of the animation also rely on this pose so they can easily transition into and out of it.
In the blog post Aguilar also touched base on a lot of other detail changes they made with the male Tauren. Check the video below to see some of what they’ve done, including expressions.

Loving the fact that Blizzard is releasing these updates so that players like you and me, are prepared when the new expansion does release sometime this year — or possibly next.
