“Azure”. That means blue. As in, “hey, my name is Keiji Inafune and I’m not allowed to make Mega Man games anymore, but now all of my awesome new games star a blue robot guy.”
Announced today during the annual BitSummit in Japan, Keiji Inafune and INTI Creates have unleashed another epic-looking sidescroller. Gunvolt stars a blue hero capable of shooting lightning rods at enemies. Volt’s destiny is to assassinate a popular singer, Lumen. When he balks his destiny is forever changed, and his future unravels around him. That means that he’ll be fighting enemies and bosses, yo!
Over time, and as his power is awakened, he’ll receive new and more powerful abilities with which to save Lumen (and the world) with.
As far as video game plots go, it doesn’t blow our minds. NO MATTER! What *DOES* get us excited is the combination of sweet 16-bit visuals and a killer soundtrack, not to mention Inafune’s involvement. It seemingly has a hearty helping of Mega Man X as its influence, which we’re TOTALLY FINE WITH. And it’s coming to 3DS this Summer!
Say whaaaaaat?
