Nintendo is set to teach a little history with NES Remix 2, a digital collection of games from the company’s first console, which will be available April 25th on the Wii U eShop. Nintendo made the announcement today during their first Nintendo Direct conference of 2014. The titles included in this latest remix are Punch Out, The Adventure of Link, Dr. Mario, Kirby’s Adventure, Ice Hockey, Metroid, Wario’s Woods, Mario Open Golf, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Luigi Bros., an alternative version of Super Mario Bros. where players run from right-to-left and high-jump — Luigi style. The year of the taller brother is eternal.
Nintendo’s other throwback will be the long-awaited appearance of Game Boy Advance games on the Virtual Console. This April, Wii U users will be able to download Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Metroid: Fusion. More GBA titles will come to the VC catalog in the future.
