Nintendo plans to put content on smartphones by the end of the year, according to Japanese paper Nikkei. The newspaper posted on their website that Nintendo plans to announce this new strategy on Thursday, the same day as their investor meeting.
The newspaper goes on to state that Nintendo will not simply put smaller versions of their games on Android and iOS devices but instead market their console games with the endeavor. More specifically, it would be a central hub to advertise different Nintendo projects, and will be free. Supposedly the company also plans on adding mini-games and demos of console games.
Ever since Nintendo went into damage control after their recent financial troubles, stories such as these have been popping up repeatedly. Rumors of new consoles, new handhelds, and going third party have abounded. Could this be another red herring before Thursday, where Nintendo might drop major news?
Well, hopefully they do.
