During its investor relations presentation today, Nintendo finally announced the release date for Mario Kart 8: May of this year. Citing the continued good sales of Mario Kart Wii, now included as a part of the Wii Mini’s bundle to consumers, and on the strength of Mario Kart 7 to boost the 3DS, the newest edition of the game brings new features to the series. As we saw at E3, the game now allows for racing on sides of buildings, upside down, and virtually anywhere that wheels can touch, as well as the return of the flying and underwater portions.
We’ll have more on the game as it nears release.
