GameStop appears to have cracked open one more crate of Xbox One units, as the company has put out a press release announcing the reopening of pre-orders for the standard edition of Microsoft’s upcoming console. The retailer requires customers to place a deposit of at least $100 for their Xbox One pre-order, and says that all customers who reserve now are guaranteed a console on launch day (November 22nd) if they pick it up in-store.
GameStop insists that this is it for Xbox One pre-orders, and that availability will only last so long. But, for those looking to buy a console after availability is quelled, or for those that don’t believe in the whole pre-ordering thing — they can seek out on-shelf units come launch day at their local Target, Walmart, etc. They can also check stores participating in a midnight release, and hold out for units set to be put out on shelves.
Sony’s own next-gen contender will release a week earlier than Microsoft’s, on November 15th.
