The next comic book to go adventure game, Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us, is looking more and more like it will race to the forefront of our collective sequential art noggins. Vertigo’s terrific Fables series always seemed perfect for a video game, and when TWAU was revealed earlier this year we were definitely excited. In fact, Steven has already been pacing back and forth and chatting me up about how Bigby (The Big Bad Wolf) is a terrific iconoclastic character and brilliant as the basis for a game.
Well, now he has a date he can circle on the calendar. Telltale has just announced an October 11 launch for the first chapter in their episodic game. At $4.99, the game will be available on Mac, PC, Xbox Live and (soon) PS3. Featuring a matured art style based on the Walking Dead game engine, Wolf is a little more fantasy-based than the multi Game of the Year winner it follows up. As an added bonus, Telltale will be pushing out a launch trailer tomorrow, October 9, for us to salivate over. Kind of like a wolf in a hen house, if you get my drift. Because wolves salivate, and the game is about the Big Bad— ah, never mind.
