Telltale Games co-founders Dan Connors and Kevin Brunner were the subject of a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” thread yesterday, in which the duo teased projects other than their ongoing The Wolf Among Us and their critically-acclaimed The Walking Dead series, which will debut its second season later this year. The two refer to these projects as “dream IP,” with Brunner saying that he’d personally love to see their studio take on the ‘Star Wars’ universe.
“Coming from LucasArts we have so many people here that love ‘Star Wars’ and have worked with the license, so that would be a great fit and very cool. In addition, we will be working on a few licenses that definitely fall into our dream IP scenario and we can’t wait to announce those,” Connors says.
“I’ll also say a Telltale ‘Star Wars’ game would make me VERY happy! We’ve got some IP coming up that pretty much checks all of my personal favorites, which absolutely amazes/honors me,” Brunners added. Whether any of these mystery games happen to be ‘Star Wars’ or not , an announcement for one of them should come “very soon,” Connors says.
Telltale has visited classic franchises before, with ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Jurassic Park’ under their belts. Founded in 2004, the studio was the culmination of multiple LucasArts vets. LucasArts shut down their internal development operations earlier this year, which prompted disheartenment in the games industry, given the company’s significance in the adventure genre and successes with the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
