It’s July! That means you’re probably prepping for a vacation somewhere around the globe, or tearing up yard work, or just envying your neighbors for their epic fire pit and S’mores.
Don’t look now, but there are new video game consoles on the horizon. What’s that? Your pile of shame is too big to even think about the next generation of hot hot gaming love? Well have no fear, because SideQuesting wants to help you make it through these trying times.
We’re launching 7in7, our Summer backlog clearance challenge (remember our 12games?) for all of our staff and readers. We’ll help you keep on track and get ready for the impending Fall release schedule by clearing out the massive amount of games you’ve been meaning to get to. You know that copy of Borderlands 2 that’s still unopened? Remember when you picked up Shadows of the Damned just because a few folks on Twitter mentioned it? Now’s your chance to actually get through them.
Starting now, and lasting through the end of July (we’ll list the final results on August 1st) we’re going to be playing seven of our backlogged games (in the seventh month, get it?) in hopes of finally plowing through them. Each week we’ll post our updates on where we stand.
“But wait, there’s more!”
We want you, the readers, involved as well! Pick seven games you have that are sitting on your shelf, in whatever state of completion they may be, and list them out below. Then, update us in the comments of our weekly posts as to how you’re doing. Use great services like Backloggery or How Long To Beat to help you along.
We have an incentive for you, too. List your seven games below and automagically get entered into our contest to win a $25 Amazon gift card. By keeping us updated every week, you’ll earn another entry each time. One person will win this great little prize on August 2nd or 3rd, just in time for the big rush of games to begin.
So there you have it! Quite simple, really. The SideQuesting staff will update this post with their lists of games as we rope everyone together.
Now, get started and let us know what you’re playing this month! We’ll be using the #7in7 hashtag all this month to chat about our gaming statuses, so feel free to join in.
