How do you whip up a few hundred attendees to an Xbox media event? Drop a cinematic Halo trailer, that’s how. We knew that Halo would eventually make its way to Xbox One, and now we have an actual date for it: 2014.
Does that seem soon? No, since by then Halo 4 will have been out for 2 years. The date fits right in line with what Microsoft has been pushing out of its mega-franchise of late.
The actual trailer revealed little, except for a cloaked figure walking through a harsh desert before calling upon a giant robot/ship to awaken out of the sand. Standard fare for trailers, with little actually shown that is anything exciting. It’s just the name “Halo” that is enough for many.
Granted, it should be pointed out that the game was listed as “Halo 5”, so take that for what its worth… another trilogy?
