Destiny Detailed
Bungie officially unveiled Destiny today and shed some light on the property we already knew a little bit about. Here are the important bits:
- Destiny is a first person shooter, part of a 10 year publishing deal with Activision
- It will take place on Earth and other real world planets within our Solar System
- Players will take control of their own created character, called a Guardian, rather than becoming a preset persona like Master Chief
- Destiny requires an always on internet connection to power their persistant MMO-esque world
- There are currently no plans to charge a subscription fee
- The first installment is planned for the current generation of consoles.
- A mobile app was teased that would provide users with data about the game, much in the same way Halo Waypoint does now.
Mortal Kombat Legacy II Trailer
Machinima released a trailer for season two of the ridiculously well done Mortal Kombat: Legacy series. The new series is centered around the actual tournament and will feature the return of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung. Many may remember him as he played the role in the original Mortal Kombat movie.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy season 2 is set to debut this spring. You can watch season 1 here.

Sony Patents the “EyePad”
Sony created this wacky thing for god knows why and to prevent it from being stolen, they patented it! The gist here is that this controller, should it ever see the light of day, would share much of the same functionality of the current Six Axis controller, but with a few added features such Playstation Move functionality, touch based input, and the ability to scan in three-dimensional objects placed on it’s surface.
As an aside, scanning in objects was originally supposed to be a feature of the Kinect as well, and was to be used as the primary food delivery system for Milo. Many view the removal of that feature as the reason Milo had to be euthanized.

Persona 2 Eternal Punishment rated by the ESRB for PS3 and PSP
The ESRB slapped a T for Teen rating on Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for PS3 and PSP. Most likely, this signifies a PSOne Classics release on PSN. Joystiq reports that this version will be published by SCEA rather than Atlus, who published the original version on PS1.
