Molyneux is making a new God Game…
Peter Molyneux, hypeman and brain behind the Populous series of games is making a new god game as part of his 22 Cans experiment. In an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun he talks about his company, successes and failures, his hopes for his new god game GODUS, it’s launch on Kickstarter and how he wants to fix the genre.
You can check out the Kickstarter for GODUS here, and see if you want this as badly as I do.

… but Rab Florence isn’t having it.
Rab Florence is a name you might remember from recent history, having left Eurogamer after a column he wrote was censored under possible threats of legal action. Today brings an impassioned rant against Molyneux and other well known and like-minded individuals turning to crowdfunding for their new projects.
He feels the entire thing is exploitative and will bring about the death of Kickstarter. I think he’s forgotten the fact that crowdfunders don’t have to donate if they don’t feel like it.

Square Enix considering same-sex marriage in Final Fantasy XIV
Among the massive changes happening to the relaunch of Square Enix’s disaster of an MMO is the possibility of same sex marriages in the game. Apparently this has been a hot topic in the MMO world for a number of years, and if the fans demand it Square Enix seems prepared to listen.
I’m all for same sex marriage, but the real question isn’t being asked. Why isn’t there a divorce system for when someone gets bored of playing an MMO and vanishes from the fake partnership?

Sony’s credit rating is almost as bad as mine
Apparently Sony’s credit rating blows almost as hard as mine does. Fitch Ratings has downgraded them to “junk” status, and Moody’s has them one spot above “junk”. Junk in the credit rating world basically means Sony’s chances of recovering are bad, and major restructuring is needed.
Now, if only I could do some major restructuring to my financial situation and start paying back my student loans at least one of us would be set.

The Bones Zone
I’ve started playing EVE Online. For as much as I’ve razzed on fellow SideQuest writer Steven Strom for playing the game, last night I found myself charting out prices of goods to buy and sell for a profit. I have become that which I mocked.
Why don’t you join me?
