Sony announced that the next software update for the PS Vita, coming late in August, will be adding several new features to the device.
The biggest addition is support for PSone Classics, but the update will also include Cross-Controller functionality (controlling your PS3 with you Vita), button-based controls for videos and music, music playlist support, rear touchpad web browser control, playback and repeat video controls, MPO photo format support, photo attachments for group messaging, button swapping and location flagging in maps. Also, Near will gather location data from wi-fi without needing to connect.
