Amongst a flood of bland, brown and (to me, at least) quite boring looking shooters at E3 this year, Crytek decided to give us a dose of color with Crysis 3.
As you can imagine, Cyrsis 3 definitely falls on the graphically prettier side of games at this year’s event. With New York being overtaken by vegetation, swampland and some nasty looking aliens, I really must say that it’s at least one of the more distinct looking first-person shooters to come out of E3.
Generally, I’m not the world’s number one FPS fan, but I actually do have something of a soft spot for Crysis that goes beyond the impressive technology behind the CryEngine. At the very least, each entry in the franchise attempts to do something a bit different than their competitors. Add to that what looks like a return to the sorts of environments found in the original game and Warhead, instead of the totally urban landscapes of Crysis 2, and you can color me interested.
Oh, and bows and arrows. Because E3 2012 is all about bows and arrows.
