Good Old Games continues to live up to its name as on January 19th they will begin selling the PC classic Syndicate for the non-oppressive price of $5.99.
In a time before first-person shooters infiltrated the hearts and minds of our youth — with sweet promises of power armor and regenerating health — there were games like Syndicate. Games that focused less on shooting aliens and more on mass oppression. That is to say, the original Syndicate, not this fancy-pants, new, dubstep simulator that come out in February. I’m talking about the one that Peter Molyneux made.
GOG has even been nice enough to begin a contest over Twitter giving away free copies of the game to some of the best Syndicate teams. We here at SideQuesting intend to participate in the contest, of course. However, we might have a tough time communicating gameplay strategies while harmonizing a non-stop rendition of Three Dog Night’s “Joy to the World”.
