NBA 2K11 was a revelation to the basketball simulation genre. Following up a game with Michael Jordan on the cover is a near impossible task, but 2K seems to be well on the way by creating a new, unique way to play the game on the PlayStation 3.
2K Sports came out on stage with a special guest: Kobe Bryant. Utilizing the Move controller, Kobe took over and started to demonstrate the ‘low barrier of entry’. There were hiccups, of course. The game my have been a slightly higher barrier of entry than they thought, as Kobe fumbled around with the Move until finally draining a shot.
Kobe did offer some words that ring true, “This game looks so real it’s frightening.”
If you are looking to pick up the game, I would suggest going with the PS3 copy. Even if the Move controls aren’t great, it will probably be fun at a party.
