Mass Effect 3 will have Kinect incorporated, but maybe not in the “run in place and point to shoot” way that you might have been expecting. Ray Muzyka announced during Microsoft’s keynote at E3 today that the game will provide a natural way to converse with characters using voice, such as selecting your responses in branching dialog.
In the scene shown, Commander Sheppard visits a female Krogan in captivity. What may have been a little disjointed is that when the dialog was chosen/spoken, the words that Sheppard would say were sometimes completely different, in typical Mass Effect fashion.
Also included is command of characters on the battle field, telling them to move up, drop back, or use weapons.
We’ll hope to have some hands-on (err, voice on..?) time with Mass Effect 3 this week at E3.
