A ton of great gaming news dropped over the weekend and this morning. Trust me when I say that coffee is a requirement for this mega-drop of great stuff, as you’ll want to be awake on a Monday to read up. In fact, there’s so much goodness that I’ve decided to perhaps make this a weekly coffee-related feature.
Today’s recommended choice for all the yummy gaming flavors: Tim Horton’s Fine Grind
The news includes Alan Wake 2 leaks, Metal Gear Solid 3D release date, and MDK2 dropping onto WiiWare.
Alan Wake 2 Leaked on a LinkedIn Resume
You’ve probably not heard of Althea Suarez Gata, but the name is about to show up all over the web. Gata has (un)knowlingly leaked information that Alan Wake 2 is being worked on, via a project posting on her LinkedIn profile. Gata works as a Previs artist, and while at Halon Entertainment, the same company that worked on the live-action Halo Reach clips, she worked on an Alan Wake 2 “in-game cinematic.” Looks like E3 will be a good one for Wake fans. As someone who may not have been a fan of the story, I DID like the direction and mechanic, and look forward to a sequel that may address some of the issues I had.
Now, if only a limited edition thermos will be included…
Metal Gear Solid 3D coming November to 3DS
Our friends at MCV are reporting that they have exclusive information from Konami on the launch of Metal Gear Solid 3D. The company is shooting for November, to coincide with Silent Hill: Downpour‘s Q4 launch window, as a major part of their gaming sales backbone for the season. The 3DS is finally getting some great games, starting with Zelda in June. The second half of the year for the portable looks to be jam-packed with great games. I can finally retire my copy of Dragon Quest IX.

MDK2 Launches on WiiWare
Though we know a new Nintendo consoles is upon us, there are still some great gems popping up on the Wii. One such game is the re-release of MDK2 for the system’s downloadable WiiWare service. Coming in at 1000 points ($10 US) the game, the game puts you in the shoes of Kurt Hectic, with his trust six-legged dog sidekick, as they battle to save the universe in all their ribbon-y glory. MDK2 was a great classic, and I’m about to call in sick the rest of the day to go play it.

PSN to be Fully Operation by May 31st
Oh, hey, PSN is still down, and will probably remain so until the end of May. I’ve personally given up, having traded in my PS3 copy of Portal 2 for the Xbox 360 version. It’s a bummer, but at least we have Live and Friend Codes to see us through.
