If you’re a Twitter user, then I’m sure by now you’ve seen the weekly #ff hashtag show up. The tag, which is a shortened form of #followfriday, indicates the Tweeter’s (Twitterer? Tweetist?) showcase of recommended people to follow. Our team at SideQuesting follows several great people in the gaming industry, from journalists to developers, critics to other gamers, and we’d love to share these folks with you
Each week, we’ll plan on selecting one interesting person in the industry to follow on Twitter for a variety of reasons. Consider this the happiest day in the life of anyone who FourSquares every Applebee’s visit and the following trips to the bathroom. Consider coming back each Friday to see who gets the award.
This week’s amazing Twitter performance goes to Jeff Green, of PopCap Games.
Funny? Yup. Smart? Absolutely. Crazy? Debatable. However you may describe his eccentric behavior as a journalist or a PR man, it is undeniable that Jeff Green has immense talent. I spent my years as a young adult reading CGW, Jeff Green was a prominent figure there even before he became the Editor-in-Chief with his goofy, over the top back page column.
Since those days, he has passed himself around more than a Catholic charity plate on Christmas and now resides at PopCap Games as the Editorial Director and social media guru.
Most of the time he is worthy of a Follow Friday, but this week he guaranteed it to himself with his tweets about his trip to Shanghai:
Jeff Green will always be a good guy in my book, mostly because of his love for Tim Horton’s coffee, but if others aren’t in line with that line of thought, then maybe his tweets from Shanghai about being propositioned by street walkers or letting us in on the state of Bruce Lee’s restaurant chains will convince you.
Even with all of Greenspeak’s quirks, he has shown that he is a family man first and a comedian and employee second. We here at SideQuesting would like to wish Mr. Green another 25 years of happily married life, and 25 after that.
As this week Jeff Green has received the only honor higher than a Nobel Peace Prize, the SideQuesting Follow Friday Award.
Now make sure you follow him everywhere at twitter.com/Greenspeak.
