Looks like Electronic Arts got caught up in the nitrous-infused hype surrounding the opening day of Fast and the Furious 5 and couldn’t help but announce the next installment in their Need for Speed franchise.
Need for Speed: The Run will take players on a cross-country race for their lives from San Francisco to New York. The game run’s on DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, the same engine behind EA’s upcoming Battlefield 3 game.
Electronic Art’s social network Autolog system will be integrated in to the game and feature improved friend and stats tracking.
Developed by Black Box, Need for Speed: The Run is slated for launch Nov. 15, 2011 in North America and Nov. 17, 2011 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii and Nintendo 3DS.
