Nintendo today announced more capabilities of the 3DS hardware during its Satoru Iwata’s GDC 2011 Keynote today.
Firstly, Nintendo will allow 3-D video recording on the 3DS, and promises more information soon on how it will be implemented and shared. However, Nintendo did mention that the focus of the device was social interaction, so abilities to share between 3DSes is almost a given.
AT&T hotspots will be providing hotspots for 3DS, for free, with over 10,000 available in May specifically designed for it’s Spotpass and online capabilities via opt-in and through the May system update.
Finally, the 3DS will also be host to Gamegear and Turbografx 16 games on its Virtual Console eShop, along with remastered classic games with 3D features. Think: getting you to re-buy all the Wii Virtual Console games that you already have.
