Yes, that image above is Super Mario Galaxy played via the (now-updated) Dolphin emulator on a PC, up-resing the game to 720p. What this actually does is clean up the polygons, smash up the do-whats, and shiny-ize the glossiness. Whatever all that means, just know that it takes Wii games played on a PC (via “backup”) and makes them look GORGEOUS. Granted there are some shaders missing, shadows are invisible, and the HUD looks like a blurry mess but the tech has been proven and the gauntlet lain. (Laid?)
Seriously, Nintendo… Wii HD. Just bring it.
