Mr. Bruckheimer’s well-known upcoming foray into the gaming industry now has leadership. Jerry B has enlisted Jim Veevaert and Jay Cohen, games industry vets, to spearhead the new company’s growth. Veevaert has previously worked at Microsoft overseeing some of its biggest franchises in recent years, most notably Halo 3. Jay Cohen is a Ubisoft senior, working to maintain and grow the company’s North American operations. Combined, these two industry giants will be tasked at coordinating the development of the studio and its IPs.
It is great to see more Hollywood-types making the jump into the growing games medium, as the once young industry is on pace to trump (or has it already?) Hollywood’s revenues.
Also, we expect games out of the studio to have massive explosions.
