Some details have surfaced today about the accessory bundle for the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band game. For those that are slightly out of the loop, here’s a brief rehash of the game:
- Early last year, we discovered that the Beatles were in talks to partner with a game company for an officially licensed Beatles rhythm game.
- Late last summer, Harmonix broke the news that they had won the license for the Beatles game, claiming that it would not be a Rock Band game, but a new game, with potentially new/different peripherals.
- This past winter, Harmonix officially announced The Beatles: Rock Band… a Rock Band game with Rock Band instruments.
This brings us to today, where we received the semi-official word (via Gamestop) that the game would come bundled with the usual plethora of Rock Band instruments, branded for the Beatles. These do include a few tweaks, however. For instance the microphone will now come with a mic stand, the Rock band drums with a pearl finish, metal kick pedal, and replica drum heads, and the guitar controller will be shaped like a Höfner Bass. There will also be a few other “extras included”, possibly along the lines of fan service such as photo books or bell bottom pants.
The kicker (no pun intended… or maybe it WAS intended): The bundle rings in at $250 when it releases this September 9th for the Wii, PS3, and 360. No word on if the game will be sold with a minimal bundle, a la Guitar Hero: Metallica or GH: Aerosmith (w/guitars only).
