SteamWorld Heist II brings the 2D tactics back for another spin

This time, with PIRATES! And OCEANS!

Thunderful Games have announced SteamWorld Heist II, a sequel to one of the more under-appreciated games of the 3DS era. The game, a 2D tactical adventure, throws players into parties of steampunk bots as they figure out why the seas are suddenly becoming corrosive.

We loved the original SteamWorld Heist, praising its turn-based gameplay and level design. Heist II looks to top that with huge levels, new characters and abilities, a job system, and naval battles, all wrapped up in a seafaring theme with a big overworld.

Though the game was announced at Nintendo’s latest Indieworld Direct, it’ll be arriving on all platforms on August 8, 2024.
