The steampunk robots head back in time.
Count me in as one of the many that were curious as to what the SteamWorld franchise would look like in an RPG. Image & Form have been hearing the masses, it seems, as they’re following up the wildly terrific SteamWorld Dig 2 with SteamWorld Quest, a card-battling RPG. The game was revealed during a pre-recorded Nintendo indie broadcast earlier today, surprising fans who have been looking forward to what the company was working on next.
The game will continue the hand-drawn aesthetic of the previous games, but now throwing in robot dragons, wizards, swords and treasure. The team promises at least around 100 cards that will be used to attack, defend, and everything else that turn-based RPGs are known for. Look for SteamWorld Quest: The Hand of Gilgamech to arrive later this year on Nintendo’s Switch, and on other platforms after that.
